The Kinetic Lighthouse Production Update: We’re Getting Close!

Hello Lighthouse Enthusiasts,
We have some very good progress to share with you.
For our Kickstarter backers, we are producing 80 Kinetic Lighthouses, including 12 with personalized engraving, and we are now well into the final production stage.
All the Components Are Here
We have received all the components needed to complete the batch.
That includes the wires, LED lights, touch buttons, circuit boards, and the other electronic parts that bring the Lighthouse to life.
It is always a special moment for us when all these small parts finally arrive in one place. For a long time, they exist separately as drawings, samples, supplier orders, and prototypes. Now they are becoming the actual product that will soon be on its way to you.
Here is a look at the components we have received:
The only thing we are still waiting for is the printed assembly manual, which should arrive by the end of this week.
Preparing and Cutting the Wooden Parts
At the same time, we are busy producing the wooden parts of the Lighthouse.
There is a little more to this process than simply putting a sheet of plywood into a laser cutter.
Before cutting, every sheet is carefully sanded by hand and coated with a hardwax oil finish. The finish brings out the natural color and texture of the wood while also giving it additional protection.
After that, the sheets need to dry for several days before they can be cut.
Only once the finish has properly cured do we move them to the laser machines and start cutting the individual Lighthouse parts.

This extra preparation takes time, but we believe it is worth it.
From the beginning, our goal was not simply to make another wooden construction kit. We wanted The Kinetic Lighthouse to feel like a beautiful object that you would be happy to keep on your desk or shelf for years.
We are trying to make it noticeably different in quality and finish.
We think we are getting there.
But very soon, you will be the ones to judge.
Where We Are Now
Right now, the wooden parts are being cut, checked, and sorted into individual sets, while all the other components are being prepared for packing.
If everything continues according to plan, our goal is to have the complete Kickstarter batch ready by September 15.
After that, we will move straight into packing and shipping.
How Shipping Will Work
For backers in Europe and the rest of the world, rewards will be shipped directly from our workshop in Slovakia.
For our US backers, we are taking a slightly different approach.
All US rewards will first travel together in one consolidated shipment to our fulfillment partner in Florida.
We will handle customs clearance and import tariffs for the entire shipment ourselves. Once it arrives in Florida, each Lighthouse will be shipped individually to its backer as a domestic US delivery.
For you, this means no customs paperwork and no unexpected import charges when your reward arrives.
Our goal is to have all Kickstarter rewards shipped by the end of September.
If everything continues smoothly, we also expect many of them to already be delivered by then.
Of course, final delivery times will depend on the destination and the local carriers, but we are getting very close now.
As soon as your individual reward is shipped, BackerKit will send you an automatic email with your tracking information.
It has taken a lot of designing, testing, sourcing, cutting, sanding, assembling, and problem-solving to get to this point.
And now we are finally at the stage where your Lighthouses are becoming real products, one by one, here in our workshop.

Production Update
We also wanted to share a quick production update!
We have officially started manufacturing The Kinetic Lighthouse. Our team has already begun laser-cutting, sanding, and treating the plywood parts with natural hardwax oil to give every piece a beautiful appearance and long-lasting protection.
At the same time, we're producing the mechanical components. In the photo below, you can see the gears for the lighthouse mechanism currently being manufactured.
This is just the beginning! In our next update, we'll share many more behind-the-scenes photos and videos from production so you can follow the journey of your lighthouse as it comes to life.

Together, we successfully completed our Kickstarter campaign for The Kinetic Lighthouse, and we could not have done it without you. Your trust, encouragement, and enthusiasm mean the world to us.
Now we are moving to the next stage: preparing everything for production and fulfillment.
Our Next Steps
Before we can officially begin production, Kickstarter needs to process and transfer the campaign funds. We expect this to happen within the next few days.
In the meantime, we are already working behind the scenes. Our team is setting up the Pledge Manager, organizing production, and preparing everything needed for the first batch.
In about a week, you will receive an email invitation to access your Pledge Manager account.

At the same time, we will continue preparing for manufacturing so we can start production as soon as everything is in place.

For our team, this means a lot. We have been working hard to turn this idea into a beautiful mechanical model that you can build with your own hands, place on your table, and enjoy every evening.
And now, thanks to you, we can bring it to life.
What happens next?
Now that the project is funded, we will keep moving forward with production preparation, final improvements, packaging, instructions, and all the small details that make the building experience better.
